Airport ↔ city

Incheon Airport sits ~60 km west of central Seoul. The connections are excellent, but the right choice depends on your destination, luggage, group size, and arrival time. Here's each option honestly.

First: which terminal?

Incheon has two terminals with different boarding points. Terminal 2 (T2) handles Korean Air, Delta, Air France, KLM, plus Asiana, Jin Air, Air Busan and Air Seoul (moved to T2 as of Jan 2026). Most other airlines use Terminal 1 (T1). A free shuttle train connects them (~6 min) if you land at the wrong one. Check your boarding pass/baggage tag.

AREX (airport railroad)

• Express train: non-stop to Seoul Station in 43 minutes, ~₩14,000, reserved seats, luggage racks. Runs ~5:20 AM–11:32 PM. Buy at machines (English) or online; discounts via Klook/KKday. Note: the Express needs its own ticket — T-money is not accepted.
• All-Stop train: the commuter service on the same line — cheaper, and stops at useful hubs like Hongik Univ. (Hongdae), Gongdeok, Gimpo Airport before Seoul Station. Tap your T-money and go. This is what many residents use.
• Find it at basement B1 of either terminal — follow "Airport Railroad" signs.

Airport limousine bus

Large coaches run from both terminals to major hotels and neighborhoods — one ride, no transfers, big luggage hold underneath. Around ₩18,000; stops announced in English & Korean, free Wi-Fi.

• Routes cover Myeongdong/City Hall/Dongdaemun, Hongdae, Gangnam and more (e.g. 6002, 6101, 6900-series). Check the exact stop matches your destination.
• Buy at ticket counters/kiosks in the arrivals area (cash or card; some vending machines are card-only).
• Rush hour (7–9 AM, 6–9 PM) can add 30–60 min — if timing's tight, take AREX instead.

Taxi

• All Incheon airport taxis are metered (no fixed-price to Seoul), plus the Incheon Expressway toll (~₩7,900) on top. Expect roughly ₩75,000–95,000 to central Seoul; more in traffic or late at night.
• Late-night surcharge (~20–40%) applies roughly 10 PM–4 AM.
• International taxis offer English/Japanese/Chinese service (~20% more, book ahead). Or use the Kakao T app (set destination to "Incheon Airport T1/T2," fare shown upfront, foreign cards work better than at street level). See taxis & trains.
• Worth it mainly for groups (cost splits), heavy luggage, or door-to-door late at night.

Arriving late at night

The last AREX Express leaves T1 ~22:40 and the All-Stop ~23:32. After that: night buses N6000 / N6001 to central Seoul (cheap, ~₩2,500 with T-money, but 90–120 min with stops), a 24-hour taxi (with surcharge), or simply wait for the first All-Stop train (~05:23).

Do this first at the airport

1. Grab a T-money card at a CU/GS25 in arrivals (works on All-Stop AREX, buses, taxis). See public transport.
2. Sort data — a SIM/eSIM, since you'll need Naver Map & Kakao T.
3. Have your destination saved in Korean, and search by a big landmark (station name) rather than your hotel's English name.
