Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Korea 101 (koreastart.com, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What Korea 101 is (and isn't)

Korea 101 provides general, informational content — guides on immigration, jobs, living, transport, and travel — plus a community board. It is not legal, immigration, tax, financial, medical, or veterinary advice, and we are not your lawyer, 행정사, 세무사, doctor, or agent.

• Rules and prices in Korea change often. We verify content against official sources and date it ("Last verified"), but always confirm important decisions with the official body or a licensed professional (e.g. HiKorea/1345 for immigration, the NTS for tax).
• We aim for accuracy but don't warrant that all content is complete, current, or error-free.
• Some pages link to third-party sites; we're not responsible for their content or practices.

2. Eligibility & accounts

• You may browse without an account. To post, you sign in with Google.
• You must be at least 14 years old to create an account (per Korean data-protection norms). By posting, you confirm you meet this.
• You're responsible for activity under your account. Keep your login secure and tell us about any unauthorized use.

3. Community rules

The community works only if people are decent to each other. When you post, you agree not to submit content that:

• Is illegal, or promotes illegal acts (including immigration fraud, fake documents, or unlicensed "visa fixers");
• Harasses, threatens, defames, or incites hatred or violence against people or groups;
• Is sexual content involving minors, or otherwise endangers children;
• Shares others' private/personal information without consent (addresses, ID numbers, etc.);
• Infringes intellectual property or other rights (don't paste others' articles wholesale);
• Is spam, scams, or deceptive commercial solicitation; or
• Contains malware or attempts to disrupt the Service.

Be especially careful with high-stakes topics (visas, overstays, money): share experiences, not instructions to break the law, and point people to official channels.

4. Your content

• You own what you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute your content within the Service (including translating it so others can read across languages), for as long as it's posted.
• You're responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to post it.
• You can delete your content or account; we remove it from public view (some backups/logs may persist briefly per our Privacy Policy).

5. Moderation & enforcement

We may, at our discretion, remove content, or suspend or terminate accounts, that breach these Terms or harm the community or Service — with notice where reasonable. We may also cooperate with lawful requests from authorities. Reporting tools will be available once the community launches.

6. Acceptable use of the Service

• Don't scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale without permission.
• Don't attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
• Don't misuse accounts, impersonate others, or manipulate community features.

7. Intellectual property

The Korea 101 name, design, and original content (excluding user posts and third-party materials) belong to the operator. You may read and share links freely and quote briefly with attribution, but please don't reproduce whole guides without permission.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We're not liable for decisions you make based on the content, for third-party sites, or for interruptions to the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Korean law (including for our own intent or gross negligence, or your statutory consumer rights).

9. Changes & termination

• We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, and may update these Terms; we'll post updates here with a new date and highlight significant changes.
• Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
• You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes will be handled by the courts with jurisdiction under Korean law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
